So I got lucky and saw the Kia Seltos X line Concept live at the 2020 Auto Expo, looks like it's gonna make it to production soon and will be a great competition/alternative to the new Creta.
It's a total visual delight to look at honestly, also I personally am a big fan of all the chrome delete. Even though they have blackened out the windows and you cant really see anything about the interiors, just the exteriors of this bad boy look really interesting. Posting some pictures here and if you guys have got some more information on the Kia Seltos X line concept, do let me know.

A very stealthy looking Seltos, is it possible that this trim makes it to India?
Otherwise will have to get kits imported to make a Seltos this way.
The orange accents also add to the look, I would want to get this as an aftermarket job for sure.
Also, are these the standard wheels for the seltos or are these in a larger rim size?

I love it and how! I think if one can just get that wrap on the normal Seltos and probably do a nice chrome delete- it will probably be pretty close to this. But trust my word on this, if Kia launches this model today, there will be a queue of people just for this(as if they don't have a big enough queue already?. Kia, are you listening?

I think this same iteration is on sale in the USA.
yes, a blacked-out treatment and a wrap can bring the seltos closer to this xline looks definitely.
I am sure Thailand will be designing bumpers/body kits for the seltos already for self-consumption and exports.

Yes, there's always a way out in Thailand right??

On a serious note, let's not forget the fact that Seltos was first launched in India, then in the rest of the markets. And also they launched a pretty spec loaded car, right from the engine options to the features inside. Kia took the Indian market really really seriously, and it has definitely showed in there sales numbers. There is still a 5 -7 month waiting period on the Seltos and apparently most of the orders are for the top of the line GTX + AT variants.

In my opinion, what that goes on to show is that is the Indian buyer doesn't mind spending the extra buck if they see value out of it. The GTX + variant on the Seltos is a true value for money product, especially when you consider features like cooled seats, sunroof, Bose audio system, e-sim connected tech to name a few.

Talking about the Seltos X line that was showcased in the US market, here's a picture I found on the vast internet.

The US spec Kia Seltos also comes with a 4X4 option, it's really interesting to note that how much attention Kia pays to the local dynamics of the market, considering snow is a big factor in the US and the 4X4 becomes pretty much a mandate then.

What do you guys have to say about this? Maybe Hyundai should borrow a leaf of two out of Kia's booklet for pricing and getting the right variants for the upcoming Creta?

@trailmaker_666 well said.
Well yes it is a great thing that an emerging market like india is getting a product before the world, but the indian govt have also helped set up a small korean town in andhra pradesh to make this possible. The 1000+ acre kia factory setup should give us indians few benefits.
Atleast they aren't treating indian market like toyota did by bringing a product that closed manufacturing globally decades before being relaunched in india 'the qualis'.
Way to make a pretty penny by providing old age tech, but now times have changed and indian customers are much more aware and willing to spend more on a better product.
The times of bare necessities have left most of the newer car buyers.
4x4 Seltos would make the product unbeatable in the indian scenario but i hardly think that it will make its way through.

This colourway is reminding me of the Royal Enfield desert stormer for some reason.
The car looks ready to go for the Dakar rally and eat some sand dunes.
What is the possibility of a 4x4 version in the Indian market? @trailmaker_666
The only other car with similar engine specs and size duster did come in a 4x4 avatar some time back with a manual transmission.
